This Lorikeet portrait is of a lorikeet who used to visit my backyard every year when the natives bloom just before spring. It was the only lorikeet that had decided to be friends with me and used to come right next to me even when my dogs were around in the backyard. We had developed a good trustworthy bond I suppose!!! It did not show up last year, so I decided to make a portrait of it. I had clicked several photos of this lorikeet and decided to paint a close up portrait from one of those references. Hopefully I will see it again this year!!!
This artwork is on stretched canvas approximately 35mm thick and does not have a separate frame. Howerver, it has a cable stretched at the back and is ready to hang. You may also use hanging strips for safe damage free display on wall (you will need to remove the cable from the back if you decide to use hanging strips). Sides of the painting are continuation of the painting.
